Sub :    SUGGESTIONS FOR EXPORT AND IMPORT POLICY 2004 AND BUDGET 2004

As you are aware, revised edition of EXIM Policy 2002-07 is likely to be announced on 31^st March 2004. Normally exercise for revision of EXIM Policy/Handbook of Procedures is undertaken by DGFT from November onwards, Council would like to make a detailed representation to DGFT/Ministry of Commerce on the EXIM Policy/ Handbook of Procedures. Hence you are requested to send your suggestions for the amendment in the EXIM Policy/Handbook of Procedures immediately. The suggestions may be sent in following format:-

A)                Export & Import Policy

B)                Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I)

2.                  Similarly Budget exercise for the Budget 2004, likely to be announced on 29^th February 2004, will also be undertaken. In view of this, it is requested that detailed suggestions relating to Section 10 A & 10 B may be sent immediately so that all the suggestions relating to Section 10 A & 10 B could be compiled at one place and submission could be made to Ministry of Finance. Suggestions may be forwarded in the following format:-

i)  Section 10 A

ii)  Section 10 B

iii)                 Any other suggestions relating to Budget

B)                Indirect Taxes
