Sub : Workshop/Open House with Shri Kamal Nath, Honourable Commerce & Industry Minister on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at New Delhi.

Shri Sharad Jaipuria, Chairman, EPCES and myself met Honourable Commerce and Industry Minister today. We requested him to have an inter-action exclusively with EOUs and SEZ Units. Honourable Commerce and Industry Minister has kindly agreed to attend an Open House inter-action exclusively with EOUs and SEZ Units. Accordingly, Export Promotion Council for Export Oriented Units and SEZ Units (EPCES) is organizing a Workshop/Open House with Shri Kamal Nath, Honourable Commerce Minister, Ministry of Commerce at 3.30 P.M. on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at New Delhi (Venue will be indicated subsequently). This is 1st ever Open House of EOUs/SEZ Units with Honourable Commerce Minister.

The Workshop/Open House is being organized to discuss all issues/suggestions relating to EOU/SEZ Scheme. The Open House will be attended by Shri Dipak Chatterjee, Commerce Secretary, Shri G.K. Pillai, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Shri Jayant Dasgupta, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and other senior government officials of Ministries of Commerce & Finance, DGFT, RBI, EOUs, SEZ Units, members of the media etc.

I request you to send your suggestions for this Open House latest by Tuesday, June 1, 2004. It will be appropriate if in this Open House major issues relating to EOUs and SEZ Units are taken up.
