Sub : Reimbursement of
Market Development Assistance (MDA) by EPCESfor direct participation
in trade fairs/exhibitions/buyer-seller meets abroad
As you are aware that Ministry
of Commerce has designated our Council as a nodal agency
for processing and disbursing of MDA claims for export promotion
activities abroad by EOU/SEZ Units
I am happy to inform you
that as per the revised MDA guidelines, the units whose
export turnover is upto Rs.10 crore are eligible for MDA
Grant. Previously, this limit was upto Rs.5 crore.
Now, Ministry of Commerce
has also allowed units to participate in trade fairs/exhibitions/buyer
seller meets either directly OR through
the EPCs/ITPO led activities. In this regard, a letter No.
2/1/2004-E&MDA dated 26.4.05 has been received from
Ministry of Commerce. A copy of the same is enclosed for
your information. At present MDA was admissible only if
a firm was participating in fair/exhibition only through
the EPC/ITPO led activity.
This will come into force
with effect from 1st April, 2005.

Assistance (MDA) Scheme guidelines amendments therein
regarding
Sir/Madam,
In continuation of our letter
of even number dated 12th April, 2005 intimating amendments
in the MDA Scheme guidelines, the undersigned is directed
to intimate further modifications in the MDA scheme guidelines
w.e.f. 1st April, 2005 as under:
(i) The present arrangement
of allowing participation of exporting companies in fairs/exhibitions
only through the EPCs/ITPO led activities stands amended
to provide that the participation in fairs/exhibitions/BSMs
abroad will now be allowed either directly OR
through the EPCs/ITPO led activities as per
details mentioned in para 3(ii) of the MDA guidelines circulated
vide letter No 2/1/2004-E&MDA dated 19th February, 2004
2. The above amendment will
come into force with effect from 1st April, 2005.
