EPCES CIRCULAR NO.77 DATED 21.12.05


Sub: Ministry of Commerce prescribes time-schedule for various permissions to be granted to the EOUs by the Zone Administration

EPCES had requested Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Ministry of Finance for prescribing time-schedule for various activities to be performed by the zone administration and customs and central excise authorities. Accordingly Ministry of Commerce & Industry, in consultation with all the Development Commissioners and the EPCES has prescribed time-schedule for various permissions to be granted to the EOUs by the zone administration vide letter No. 13/53/2003-EOU dated 29th November, 2005. A copy of this letter alongwith time-schedule is enclosed alongwith. This will help in bringing about uniformity in procedures for the EOUs at the implementation level. We have requested DGFT to incorporate this time-schedule in the forthcoming Annual Supplement of the Foreign Trade Policy.

We have requested Ministry of Finance again to prescribe time schedule for the activities to be performed by the customs/central excise authorities. Ministry of Commerce has also requested the Ministry of Finance.

Sir/Madam,
      I am directed to refer to this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 22.8.2005 on the above mentioned subject and to say that the time schedule for the various activities of the Zones have been finalized in consultation with EPCES and all the Special Economic Zones. A copy of the time schedule fixed for various activities is enclosed for compliance.
